Definition of a Vincent Rensel: one who is unpredictably goofy yet laid back, and has a high drive for making art and furthering his craft between periods of monkey-like climbing. Ten people I have known for most of my college life were interrogated by myself for this insight and luckily, most lived.

To pinpoint my work and methodology is awkward(I hate pinpointing). Because of my training that began with an art major program at my high school, through my four years at Columbus College of Art and Design, and beyond, I’ve gathered traditional, contemporary, and older ways of drawing well, painting well, sculpting badly, and working digitally(weaving, tie-dying, metalworking, and finger painting won‘t help me now). When it comes to how I do these things, two ways come to mind- representationally, which I do well, and then every other way. The other ways include cartooning(caricature and other), flat styles(illustrator or watercolor), or other experiments. I also design graphically when the mood strikes, or when the bills pile.

Work for independent patrons is often humorous, although that is not always the case. I drew caricatures professionally for theme park goers for a couple summers. I do like working on humor-based illustration and can pull off decorum when handling the business involved in it. The drawings can target the patron so it has been interesting trying to understand the lines drawn(no pun intended) when it comes to them enjoying the art, so tact is necessary alongside good drawing.
